When you order plants from a mail order nursery or online nursery, you are usually recommended to soak the plants in seaweed solution for a few hours before you plant them. This strengthens the plants and their roots, and helps them fight of diseases etc. Seaweed solution however is not only good for soaking your plants, it is also very effective as protection against pests and insects! Seaweed contains many beneficial ingredients such as bacteria and hormones, and these harm insects such as spider mites. You can dilute the seaweed as directed on the pack and spray on the plant foliage, underneath as well. Great foliar feed too!
