Golden Canes 1 Year, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi Dan & El
How are you and little Amber? I am after some Golden Canes, do you have any, if so, how many and what price? I have been desperately searching for some common old garden variety of Bamboo, which I find useful as a wind break and for making things out of, and I have had NO luck at all. Do you know where I can get my hands on some small plants?

Regards
Karen

Ps. I am jealous to see you are getting some nice weather, it is sooo bloody cold and wet here. The rain is just a nuisance, just a mil here and there, would rather be stuck inside suffering from cabin fever with heavy rain coming down.

Hi there,
We’re fantastic – 11 weeks on and whoohoo I can actually DO some things sometimes. Makes me feel like a person again, love being out in the garden, nursery and doing plant things...

Anyway... Yes, I do have Golden Canes but they are huge, in big bags. If you are still in Victoria, they will be too much to send. I can get you some smaller plants in however, for a good price. They are just single canes, so you would need to plant a few of them in one pot, to create a ‘clumping effect’ and give it a kick start. I have an order coming in this Monday if you’d like me to get you some? They would be $50 for 100 stems. You’d get between 15-20 plants out of that if you’re planting them with several stems in 1 pot. Post is $9.95.

Hmm, yes I also have two types of Bamboo, but they are also too big to send. Unfortunately I can’t get small plants of these either. Most bamboo sellers will not sell under 1m tall to ensure the type and variety are correct, and from seed they don’t come true to type. So, you will probably not find any small plants, unless someone is willing to sell you a rhizome of a plant they already have.

I know, the weather is almost perfect here. I complain in winter that it’s too cold (for about 2 weeks) and in summer that it’s too hot, but really, we’re pretty lucky here. I think they say Bundaberg has some of the best weather in the country?

Cheers, El
