Ordering
Our online nursery is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The National Tropical Plants team is available from Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm. We are closed on Sunday's as we're flat out packing plants, and Monday's. Orders can be placed through our website or via email. Please note we CANNOT take orders for delivery in Tasmania, Western Australia or overseas.

Plant arrival guarantee
We guarantee our plants arrive safely in great health or we will replace them for you! No claims can be accepted later than 2 weeks after plant dispatch. Photo's may be required to assist in assessing what may have been the problem. Grow notes are provided with all parcels and will need to be followed carefully for successful plant growing & to file a claim for our guarantee.
Prices
All prices on our website are in Australian dollars (AUD), and include GST unless otherwise stated. Prices are shown for single items, and discounted prices are available for multiples of the same item. All prices are subject to change without notice.
Payment
All payments are processed through our shopping cart protected by secure SSL. Payment is accepted through bank deposit, credit card and PayPal. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
To pay for your order over the phone, please phone our secure Eway payment system. This only works if you have already placed an order online and you selected bank deposit, or your payment didnt go through.

For bank deposits, please use your name or invoice number as a reference to help us identify your payment. From the time of ordering, payment is expected within 7 days. For items which are ordered in for you, payment is expected up front. Any quotes given are valid for 14 days.
Packaging
All our plants & accessories are packaged with the greatest care. We strongly believe soil-less packaging is the very best way to go to. It minimizes root damage which often occurs when plants are sent potted. All plants are sent without pots and without soil, so we take them out of their pots prior to soaking them in seaweed solution (where appropriate for the variety of plant).Seaweed solution strengthens the plants for transport, and also protects against disease. We then wrap their roots in moist media such as newspaper, and wrap them in plastic to retain moisture. This is then secured with sticky tape & a label to assist you in identifying the plant.
The plant is then taken to our online nursery packaging room, and securely fastened in a cardboard box with sticky tape to hold it in place and prevent damage to stems and foliage. The box is filled up with shredded newspaper to act as shock barrier, and the box is addressed to you and marked as ‘Live plants – do not leave in sun’.
All plants are posted via e-parcel unless otherwise stated. Please note that some plants may be cut back to help them retain moisture. Plants will regrow quickly and without problems.
Delivery
- Delivery prices vary depending on weight of the plants, the size and your location. The easiest way for a quote is to add the plants to your cart, and use our postage calculator for a quote.
- All orders are despatched on Monday.
- We take great care in preparing our plants for transport which requires some preparation, and therefore we have a cut-off time for our orders. We can only pack & post orders which are paid for BEFORE 12pm Friday this week. Orders which are paid for after 12pm Friday will be posted the following week. We only post orders on Monday's to give them plenty of time to arrive before the weekend.
- We CANNOT take orders for delivery to Western Australia, Tasmania or overseas.
- Orders are delivered via E-parcel and arrive anywhere from Tuesday to Friday depending on your location. If needed, we can trace your parcel.
Although most parcels arrive without any problems, it gives you & us piece of mind to know that E-parcel parcels have a tracking number. Your tracking number can be used to trace your parcel as it is scanned at several points along the journey, and we also use it to file a claim in case we need to.
Please note we reserve the right to hold orders containing live plants if we think the weather is not suitable, or postage is delayed due to public holidays etc.. Sometimes weather conditions are severe and it’s best to hold the plants until travel conditions improve. We will always contact you in such a situation, or you can notify us of any weather conditions in your area.
Changes & Cancellations
We must be notified of any changes or cancellations to your order as soon as possible. Changes and cancellations are only accepted before your order is picked, which occurs the weekend prior to delivery (Saturday & Sunday). If we have already picked or packaged your order, a restocking fee of 25% may be charged.
Similarly, for orders purchased by overseas customers, or customers from Western Australia and Tasmania, we may charge you the fee the credit card company charges + an inventory adjustment fee. We clearly state we can't send outside of Australia, nor to W.A. or TAS, so please DO NOT purchase if you are located in those places.
Back orders
As a policy, we don’t place orders on back order. If a product is out of stock, we will notify you, and we will ask you to either replace it with another item, or we will refund the price of the item. If you would like your item placed on back order, please notify us.

Errors & availability
We always try and make sure our website and catalogue are up to date. However, due to the nature of our products, it is sometimes possible that items are unavailable or out of stock. We reserve the right to amend or decline orders where the price is incorrect or outdated, or items are out of stock. If you do not want to proceed with your order, a refund will be processed as soon as possible.
Images & Copyright
All images and information listed on our website, or sent to you via email, fax or other method, are the property of National Tropicals Plant Nursery, or are used with permission from the owner. No images or other information are to be used in any way without prior written consent. We take great care to represent our plants in the most realistic way; however, conditions beyond our control may alter the appearance of the plant, such as climatic conditions. Images, including of plant size, are intended to be used as a guide only.
Liability
Information on the website, via phone, fax and email is supplied as a guide only. By placing an order, you accept the fact that significant variations may occur in plants, plant appearance and plant sizes due to location, climate, soil, cultural practices & other growth factors. No liability will be accepted by National Tropical Plants for information or plant material supplied.
