Alpine Strawberry 'Ali Baba' (Fragaria vesca) Strawberry Ali Baba is a woodland strawberry, or 'wild' strawberry. The fruits, which follow the small white flowers, have a beautiful strong flavour and are great for eating fresh, straight of the strawberry plant, or making into jam. The plants themselves are fairly small, around 20cm tall, and have nice, lush, bright green foliage. Alpine Strawberries are non-running and only clump from the base of the plant. Propagation is from seed and can sometimes be done from offsets as well. Common names: Strawberry Bush Alpine, Alpine Strawberry, Ali Baba Strawberry Supplied as: plants, 5cm tall Thank you for visiting National Tropical Plants online nursery – Australia’s plant nursery, garden nursery & mail order nursery for garden plants & tropical plants. Strawberry Ali Baba is one of the nicest strawberries I have ever tasted! Not only that, this plant also seems to grow equally well in full sun and part shade - great as I can now grow it under my dense Hibiscus shrub where nothing else seemed to grow well. It even fruits well, although I always compete with the possums :)
