Bird of Paradises are very beautiful tropical plants. They have uniquely shaped flowers which resemble a bird's head. Several varieties are known, the most popular being 'Strelitzia reginae', the Orange Bird of Paradise, and 'Strelitzia nicolai', the White, or Giant Bird of Paradise. All have paddle shaped, leathery leaves, and form clumps. Strelitzia plants are easy to grow in a rich soil, with regular applications of fertiliser. They look great around pools, in pots and as garden features.

Tall, striking foliage plant to 12m high. Fast growing evergreen plant, large dramatic leaves for a true tropical effect. Huge flowers resemble birds’ heads and can be used in floral arrangements.

Unique flowers which resemble a bird’s head, orange and blue. Paddle shaped leaves and forms clumps of 1m wide, 2m high. Seed pods have bright orange arils. Great in gardens and pots.
