The wider leaves on top are a blue green with silver accent and the other leaves are a majestic maroon. Years into maturity these tropical plants will bloom hundreds of small white and great scented flowers. The Alcantarea Imperialis Rubra does well in full sun and partial shade and can handle a vast range of temperatures. They will grow in just about any soil but will thrive best if well drained. Growing Tips for Alcantarea Imperialis Rubra The Alcantarea Imperialis Rubrawell can also be grown in a large pot. Providing this large and beautiful tropical plant with a well drained potting mix and a few hours of shade will help its prosperity.
