Graceful small palm 2-3m tall with bamboo-like long slender stems. Native to Mexico and Central America where is grows as an understory palm. Usually grown with multiple plants in a pot or spot, although the plant itself naturally spreads by offshoots similar to Bamboo. The Bamboo Palm is frequently used indoors; it is tolerant to low-light areas and is low maintenance. Grow in well-draining soil, fertilize in spring and summer, thrives in low-light conditions, but tolerates full sun when established and slowly introduced. Keep soil moist but not logged. Remove old fronds to reveal the attractive light green bamboo-like stems. Chamaedorea seifrizii is the most cold tolerant of the bamboo Chamaedoreas Common names: Florida Bamboo Palm, Bamboo Palm, Reed Palm Supplied as: plants, 10-20cm

This palm grows well in my office in a bright spot in front of the window. It seems fairly fast growing too, I give it Osmocote for tropical plants regularly.
